Hope Receives Charity in Time for Christmas

Hope Community Services charity in Worksop received a surprise box of teddy bears from TLC Nottinghamshire just in time for Christmas.

The new bears, which were generously funded by North Notts. Rotary Lodge no.8998, were presented by W Bro Roger Garrett, Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Provincial Charity Committee.  The teddies will provide comfort to young children arriving at the centre often in a distressed state, having been made homeless.

The charity helps those in need because of their social and economic circumstances, particularly the homeless and the socially excluded, by providing assistance, guidance and access to education, health care and other services.

Two days before Christmas the charity also received a £15,000 matched funding grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation and the Province of Nottinghamshire to refurbish a small flat, part of their ‘Move on with Hope’ housing project. This provides a supported link for homeless people, individuals and families often with young children, between hostel accommodation and permanent housing.

Katie Chubb, Charity Development Officer at the Hope Community Services charity said:

I just wanted to extend my thanks again for delivering the TLC teddies, it’s very kind of you. Thank you also for all your support of our charity; it’s greatly appreciated and the Grant means a huge amount to us
